Visit by Athens Consular Personnel to Chios on March 15 and 16, 2018

Athens – Residents of Chios are invited to join representatives from the U.S. Embassy on Thursday, March 15 and Friday, March 16, 2018, as they provide consular, federal benefits and Immigration services in Chios. Consular Services will include accepting passport applications for persons NOT eligible for mail-in application services, documenting children’s births in Greece to U.S. citizen parent(s), and providing limited notarial services.

Passport and Citizenship Services will be available, on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., through a prearranged appointment.

Immigration Services will include accepting petitions, for qualified immediate relatives, on a walk-in basis, without a prior appointment, on Thursday, March 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on Friday March 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A Federal Benefits representative will answer questions on Thursday, March 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on Friday March 16, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A prior appointment is not required.

Passports & Reports of Birth Abroad services are available by appointment only. Passport applicants can expect to receive their completed passports about a month after applying. Appointments are not available in Chios for applicants who are qualified to use the Form DS-82 application, as these services are available by mail. · Please complete application form DS-11 and/or DS-2029 in advance of your appointment. Forms and instructions may be obtained at https://gr.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/

· Please bring copies and originals of previous passports, birth certificates (for children’s applications), and Greek ID cards.

· Please ensure all foreign-language (non-Greek) documents are translated into English.

· Please note that fees for passport & citizenship, notarials and Immigration services may be paid only by a bank check in euros made payable to the American Embassy. Bank checks may be obtained from the following banks: National Bank, Bank of Piraeus, Alpha Bank, Attica Bank, Citibank, HSBC and Eurobank. Personal checks are not accepted. If you submit more than one application, one bank check may include the total amount.
