During the presentation of 83rd Thessaloniki International Fail U.S. Consul General Rebecca Fong said:

“First of course, is to celebrate the very best of American technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Those are characteristics that mark the competitive and dynamic parts of the U.S. economy, but also to get the message out to the international audience that Greece is open for business, that the economy is starting to turn around, that there are real opportunities here in terms of investment.

Second, we just value our relationship with Greece and want to highlight in particular our commitment to northern Greece.  We have made sure that the American government is aware of developments here in northern Greece and in turn it has brought an increase of American visitors, officials especially, and ones that can help with investment, training, capacity building, and cooperation.”
