American citizens of Northern Greece can meet with representatives from the U.S. Embassy on Wednesday, February 26 and Thursday, February 27, as they provide Consular and Federal Benefits Services.
Consular services will include accepting passport applications for persons NOT eligible for mail-in application services and registering birth abroad to U.S. citizen parent(s) and are available by appointment only.
A Federal Benefits representative will answer questions on Wednesday, February 26, and Thursday February 27, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A scheduled appointment is not required.
Passports & Reports of Birth Abroad: Please review the information at https://gr.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/child-family-matters/birth/and send all the required documents listed on the CRBA Checklist, by courier to the Passport and Citizenship Unit, 91 Vasilisis Sofias Avenue, 101 60 Athens, at least 10 days in advance of the trip. Once documents are reviewed, we will schedule the appointment for you.

Passport applicants can expect to receive their passports approximately one month after submission of a completed application.
Appointments are not available in Thessaloniki for applicants who are eligible to use the Form DS-82 application, as these services are available by mail. Instructions for mail submissions can be found at: https://gr.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/renewing-adult-passport/
Payment for Services performed in Thessaloniki: Please note that fees for passport and citizenship services may be paid only by a bank check in euros made payable to the “U.S. Embassy Athens”. Bank checks may be obtained from the following banks: National Bank, Bank of Piraeus, Alpha Bank, Attica Bank, Citibank, HSBC, and Eurobank. Personal checks are not accepted. If you submit more than one application, one bank check may include the total amount.
