International Day of Volunteers

On the occasion of the International Day of Volunteers on December 5, the U.S. EMBASSY ATHENS supported a four-day program organized by the volunteer organization Ethelon, with the participation of two American experts, Jonathan Barreto and Katy Elder, senior executives of one of the largest volunteer organization in the U.S. Points of Light.

The program started with the “Kindness Revolution,”a day of volunteer activities across Athens, with the participation of more than 300 young and old volunteers, who will cook for a soup kitchen, collect clothes and other items in need for the people of Mandra, decorate Christmas trees at an elderly home, spend the day taking care of animals at an animal shelter and many more activities.
