Insider’s Guide: Sedona’s Vortexes and True Community

Arizona

How did Sedona, Arizona—a desert town surrounded by huge red rock hills, steep canyons and dense pine forests—transform into a must-stop for artists, nature lovers and people on a spiritual quest? Watch this Insider’s Guide episode to find out.

During the 40s, 50s and 60s, Sedona was a Hollywood western movie set. In the 1980s, the town became a tourist resort. Today, Sedona is a premier destination for people searching to expand their minds and souls, and those pursuing a simple life, closer to nature.

But Sedona also inspires adventure. Surrounded by a natural park of nearly 2 million hectares, visitors and residents can climb, cycle, take hot air balloon rides, or meditate in one of Sedona’s many vortexes. One resident told Insider’s Guide that living in Sedona “allows me to understand what true community is all about.”
