The U.S. Embassy is proud to announce its support for “The Inclusivity Lounge online,” a hub promoting equality and women’s leadership at the Delphi Economic Forum.
On Tuesday, May 5 from 15:00-17:30, the Delphi Economic Forum will host “The Inclusivity Lounge online,” organized by Women On Top with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Athens and Coca Cola Tria Epsilon, and in cooperation with Women Act and Lean In Hellas. “The Inclusivity Lounge online” is taking place under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Family Policy and Gender Equality. U.S. Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt will give opening remarks along with Secretary General for Family Policy and Gender Equality Maria Syrengela. Anyone interested in participating may register here: https://www.crowdcast.io/e/defoe14
Initially planned as a meeting space at the 2020 Delphi Economic Forum, “The Inclusivity Lounge” is moving to an online platform. It will create a space for exchanging ideas and networking around the gender-related issues of the Covid-19 health and economic crisis, and convey an overall commitment to promoting equal representation of men and women in all aspects of economic, social and political life.
After the welcome remarks, subsequent panels, conversations and Q&A sessions with speakers from business, media and policy will examine the lack of data on how the Covid-19 crisis affects genders differently, the need for equal and inclusive leadership to address the major challenges of our times, the dimensions of ethical technology, and the significance of equal access for women in promoting greater social cohesion. They will also consider examples of international policies and best practices on transitioning to equal participation of women in all aspects of the public sphere.
The goal of this initiative was for matters of gender equality, diversity and inclusive leadership to be raised at the heart of the Delphi Economic Forum, one of the most important platforms for thought leadership and decision-making in Greece. Moving to an online forum will allow for these discussions to take place at an important moment for Greece – recognized globally for its impressive response to the Covid-19 crisis, yet still in the last place of the European Gender Equality Index in 2019. It can become an example of positive change. All who are interested in contributing to, or simply listening and learning more about, inclusivity, particularly in a time of crisis, are welcome at “The Inclusivity Lounge online” on Tuesday, May 5, 15:00 – 17:30 p.m.
