Friday, October 21 was the first night of #HackTheCamp – the hackathon on refugee and integration issues. Ambassador Pyatt addressed the gathered crowd of 130 coders, creative professionals, designers, NGO representatives, and refugees, urging them to help find concrete solutions to the real problems faced by the migrants living in the camps. Teams will have six weeks to develop prototypes before the final hack on December 2-4. The event was organized by Impact Hub Athens, Onassis Cultural Centre, and U.S. EMBASSY ATHENS – with the support of Microsoft Hellas. The work of the teams is being facilitated by experts from International Alert and Creative Associates International.
