Energy Envoy Meets with Greek Counterparts

Amos Hochstein, U.S. Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs at the U.S. Department of State visited Greece October 13-14 for meetings with Greek government officials and energy sector representatives.  Among his official meetings, Special Envoy Hochstein met with Minister of State Nikos Pappas, and Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy Panos Skourletis.  He emphasized the need for regional cooperation in developing energy resources, the importance of continuing progress on the IGB pipeline, as well as the need for diversification of energy sources. During his visit, S/E Hochstein reiterated his view that Greece has the potential to play a leadership role solving energy security concerns of countries in the region.
