The Embassy of the United States of America in Greece handed over to the HQs of the Hellenic Police medical supplies for protection of the Hellenic Police personnel against COVID-19
The Chief of the Hellenic Police Lt. General Michael Karamalakis received the supplies together with the Chief of the Hellenic Police Staff Lt. General Panagiotis Tziovaras and the Chief of the Division of Management of Technical Support and IT Col. Dimitrios Pandelis
On the occasion of the donation the U.S. Ambassador to Athens Geoffrey Pyatt stated:
As Greece gradually and safely begins to restart its economy, we are partnering with Greece and the Hellenic National Police to ensure that, as front-line responders, they have the equipment they need. Today’s donation of personal protective equipment, purchased locally through funding provided by U.S. European Command, is one more demonstration of our commitment to work together with Greece to overcome the COVID-19 global pandemic and builds on our long tradition of outstanding cooperation with the HNP and Ministry of Citizen Protection.
“My warm thanks to the United States Ambassador to Greece Mr. Geoffrey Pyatt for the trust and support that he has overtime displayed to the Hellenic Police. We are happy to receive today this kind offer of medical supplies that constitutes an active recognition of the continuing effort made by our personnel during the difficult times that have been caused by the COVID-10 pandemic.”
