The U.S. Embassy in Athens is happy to partner with the Onassis Cultural Center for the dance education program “Dancing to Connect” reaching 200 high school students in Athens and Chania.  In its sixth year, the program has reached over 1,100 students ages 13-18, and has travelled to five different cities around Greece.  This year in Chania, after ten days of workshops with experienced dancer-trainers, the students will present their own choreographies at a performance on Saturday, February 25.  The program will then take place in Athens and the Chania students will join their Athenian fellow students for a final performance at the Onassis Cultural Center on March 11.  “Dancing to Connect” promotes movement expression as a way to overcome conflict and promote tolerance and acceptance among teenagers, and it was designed by the New York based Battery Dance Company.
