CodeGirls 2.0 in Trikala

CodeGirls 2.0 in Trikala

CodeGirls are back and ready for the second round of the program – in Trikala!

In an attempt to close the gender gap in the technology and engineering sectors, U.S. EMBASSY ATHENS, U.S. Consulate General Thessaloniki, and the Greek NGO Mataroa are sponsoring a one-of-a-kind, innovative coding program for Greek girls between 10 and 16 years of age.

This year, the program also has support from the Municipality of Trikala and the Information Networking Institute of Carnegie Mellon University. This four-day program will be held during two weekends in Trikala – March 11-12 & 18-19.

Using innovative tools with the guidance of experienced coders, CodeGirls 2.0 participants will have the opportunity to review what they learned from last year on HTML and CSS. But, most importantly, they will be able to learn Javascript and Bootstrap basics and start creating their own websites.

Currently in its third year, CodeGirls aspires to educate, inspire, and equip high school girls with the skills and resources to pursue opportunities in computing fields.Participation to the program is free and will be on a first come, first served basis, as spaces are limited.
