The Procurement Section of the U.S. Embassy in Athens seeks to enter into contracts with qualified reliable firms with sufficient resources, financing, and work experience for delivering and performing a variety of commodities and/or services.
In order for a Company to be considered for Embassy contracts, the Company shall be able to meet, satisfy, understand, and comply with the requirements in the Notice to Interested Offerors
All businesses entering into a contract or purchase order with the U.S. Federal Government require to register in the System for Award Management (SAM) by following these steps:
- New entities can get their Unique Entity ID (UEI) at SAM.gov and, if needed, complete an entity registration. Existing registered entities in SAM.gov do not need to update their entity registration to get a Unique Entity ID (UEI). It is already assigned and part of their entity registration.
- Obtain an NCAGE code for each entity they plan to register in SAM.gov. Get an NCAGE Code here. Make sure the legal business name and physical address you provide to get your NCAGE Code and register are identical. It takes up to 3 business days to obtain a NCAGE code.
- When you get the NCAGE Code, go to SAM.gov to start registration by entering information about your entity, as required. Allow at least ten business days after you submit your registration for it to become active in SAM.gov. If your entity fails TIN or NCAGE code validation, SAM.gov will send you an email with instructions on updating your information and resubmitting your registration. You may need to work with the IRS or NCAGE to update your information before resubmitting your registration.

There is NO FEE to register, or maintain your registration, in the System for Award Management. If you receive an email from a company claiming to represent SAM.gov, be cautious. If you get an e-mail from a company offering to help you register in SAM.gov asking you to contact them and pay them money, be cautious. These messages are not from the Federal Government. It is FREE TO REGISTER in SAM.gov for any entity.
